NORFOLK COASTLINE, WAVES & WATER AND WILDLIFE EXHIBITION
21st June - 4 JULY 2023

11/06/2023

A photographic exhibition of images depicting Norfolk in all its guises, from light on the landscape to the sights and sounds of the Norfolk coastline. From wildlife to waves and water of our shores.
Norfolk is a county like no other, the coastline is constantly changing through coastal erosion and managed retreat. From its marrams and low-lying beaches in east to its cliffs and salt marshes in the west, it's a county where you can see both the sunrise and the sunset over the sea, it is steeped in history and a delight to explore.

I have taken many images over the years and can generally be found out and about, with a camera in hand either watching the local wildlife, or capturing the essence of our local Norfolk landscape, or simply just getting wet and windswept on the beaches along our coast watching the ever-changing coast as it evolves and changes daily. Every day offers a different opportunity to capture Norfolk in all its glory. This exhibition is themed around sights and sounds of the coastline with all that the eye might see, from furling waves and their unique patterns on the shoreline and its glorious sand, seashells and seaweeds, to the many guises of light that can be seen from sunrise to sunset on an everchanging landscape. No two images are the same when photographing the sea, with the split second 'frozen in time' waves as they furl and unfurl furiously or peacefully on our beaches, each pattern unique. The sounds of the birds on the wing, from the distinctive sounds of the avocet and oystercatchers, to the sound of the geese as they migrate to our coastline during the autumn and winter months... there is nothing more exciting than hearing the first sounds of the geese arriving for the winter as they migrate from far northern shores to spend winter on our coast.
